Established in 2018, Patliputra University (PPU) is a collegiate public state university located in Patna, Bihar. The University has over 25 constituent colleges, two government girls colleges, three minority colleges and 38 affiliated colleges. All the colleges of Patna and Nalanda districts, Bihar (India), fall under the jurisdiction of Patliputra University except those attached to Patna University. It is a UGC-recognised University. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate and vocational programmes in varied fields such as Humanities and Social Science, Science, Teaching and Education, Accounting and Commerce, IT and Software, Business and Management Studies, Arts (Fine / Visual / Performing), Engineering, etc. It has an Online Teaching Learning Cell.

The government of Bihar built a plan to help the students across the state a few years back. Students who belong to low-caste, minority, and low-income families can avail of the scholarships provided by the government. Once the student has taken admission to the desired University/college, they can apply for the annual scholarship which is released every year on the Bihar government’s official website. The scholarship mainly covers tuition fees for vocational and traditional courses. In addition to that many colleges under Patliputra University have decided to give free education to the girl students. Some of the Patliputra University scholarships are listed below:
This scholarship facility is provided to SC/ST girl students by the Backward Community Welfare Department through E-Kalyan Bihar Portal. This scheme is being operated under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Utthan Yojana.
Eligibility: 12th class passed girl students who have passed this class with the first division or second division can apply.
This scholarship is provided to the girl students who have passed class 12th in coordination with Mukhyamantri Kanya Utthan Yojana and Balika Protsahan Yojana. So far more than 8000 girl students have benefited from this scheme.
Eligibility: A student of Bihar who has passed 12th class first division and belongs to the SC, ST category then you can apply.
