After the completion of the application process and entrance exams, candidates are shortlisted based on the following criteria for each course
Applicants can inquire about the selection rounds for the remaining courses by contacting the admission office at IIT Bombay. Furthermore, the corresponding counseling bodies announce the cutoff for BTech, MTech, and MSc programs. The institute announces the names of the shortlisted candidates for merit-based courses through the issuance of a merit list. Candidates are contacted for seat allocation counseling based on the merit list. Those who have been shortlisted must pay the fee in order to be admitted.

Merit-cum-Means scholarship:
Merit-cum-means scholarships are given to up to 25% of undergraduate students who are officially enrolled. Only Dual Degrees are eligible for it till the fourth year. The eligibility for these scholarships will be based on both academic merit and financial need. For female undergraduate students only, there is a special chance known as the Women Merit Scholarship.
1. Students whose parental income is upto Rs. 1 Lakh :
Women –
• Exemption from payment of Tuition fee.
• Scholarship of Rs. 40,000/ per year.
• Women Merit Scholarship of Rs. 10,000/ per year.
Others-
• Exemption from payment of Tuition fee.
• Scholarship of Rs. 40,000/ per year.
2. Students whose parental income is above Rs. 1 Lakh up to 3 Lakhs :
Women –
• Exemption from payment of Tuition fee.
• Scholarship of Rs. 30,000/ per year.
• Women Merit Scholarship of Rs. 10,000/ per year.
Others-
• Exemption from payment of Tuition fee.
• Scholarship of Rs. 30,000/ per year.
3. Students whose parental income is above Rs. 3 Lakh up to 5 Lakhs :
Women –
• Exemption from payment of Tuition fee.
• Scholarship of Rs. 20,000/ per year.
• Women Merit Scholarship of Rs. 10,000/ per year.
Others-
• Exemption from payment of Tuition fee.
• Scholarship of Rs. 20,000/ per year.
National Scholarships (All States):
The students from the relevant states get the National Scholarships. IIT is used to forward the applications. This scholarship is awarded or renewed annually, and candidates must submit a progress report at the beginning of the school year.
