Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical institution (AKTU) A public collegiate institution at the state level was founded in 2000. A "University of National Importance," formerly known as Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), is recognized for its UG and PG programs in the engineering and science fields. In addition to being a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), AKTU is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The Institute of Engineering and Technology, Faculty of Architecture Lucknow, Centre for Advanced Studies, and UP Institute of Design Noida are now among the university''s four constituent colleges.
