Established in 1969, Guru Nanak Dev University is located in Amritsar. GNDU is both a residential and an affiliating university and is recognised by the UGC. The university is also accredited by NAAC with ‘A++’ grade and is conferred the status of ‘University with Potential for Excellence’ by the UGC. GNDU has been ranked 48 under the ‘University’ category by the NIRF ranking in 2023. Moreover, this is the only University with Category-I status in the states of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh. 1. Candidates need to visit the website and fill the registration form.
2. Candidates need to fill all the details and upload photographs & signatures in JPG/JPEG format.
3. Now, enter the password for the account and click on ‘Register’.
4. Post successful registration, an email is sent to registered email using which candidates can login into their account.
5. After signing into account, candidates need to click on ‘Course Registration’ and fill the registration form.
6. Candidates must carefully select the category to which they belong because once submitted, the category is not allowed to change.
7. Candidates can pay the application fee either in offline mode via HDFC bank or university cash counter, or in online mode at the portal.
8. After fee payment, candidates need to fill the admission form before the last date.
9. Candidates whose admissions will be done through Entrance Test, candidates need to download the Admit Cards from their accounts.
10. Results of the entrance test will be published on the university website.
11. Candidates qualifying the entrance test are required to appear for counselling on the respective counselling date.
12. After counselling, university will publish the list of provisionally admitted on the website

(i) University awards scholarships to meritorious or handicapped/disabled/blind and economically weak students.
(ii) Harnarinder Jot Sarup, Smt. Satinder Kaur Ramdev (For Library Sc. Students) Mahesh Dutt Bhalla and Jaswant Kaur Bhalla Scholarship, Prof. M.P.Satija Scholarships are also available to the students out of the Endowment Fund created by the University.
(iii) Special scholarships are available for students admitted to B.Sc.(Hons. Sch.), M.Sc.(Hons. Sch.) and M.Sc.Human Genetics
