I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University was established by an Act of the State Legislature in 1997. It was established as Punjab Technical University and renamed as I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University by the State Government in honour of Late Sh. Inder Kumar Gujral, Former Prime Minister of India, in 2015. The university has 21 AICTE and 65 UGC Institutes affiliated with it. The University is undertaking and supervising the instructions and award of 30+ bachelor’s degrees in Engineering and Technology and 20+ in non-AICTE & UGC courses. 1. Candidates can collect Admission Form/Prospectus, Brochure and University magazine from Administrative office by paying the application fee only by Demand Draft in favour of “I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University” payable at Jalandhar.
2. Fill the admission form in all respect
3. In case of any difficulty, candidates should contact the Admission Center In-charge.
4. Candidates should get his/her duly filled Admission Form examined at Admission Cell/Admission Data Entry Center.
5. Submit the Admission Form along with all original documents and payment slip in the Administrative Office/Admission Data Entry Center.
6. After completing all the process, candidates have to collect the Confirmation letter from Admission In-Charge.

IKGPTU Free Ship Scheme
Free Ship Scheme will be open for different categories of students and will be considered in the order of preference:
Parent less students are eligible for financial assistance for full free ship of fee, if the
total family income of the student is less than Rs 2.50 lakh from all source
Father less students / Low Income Group students are eligible for financial assistance for half free ship, if the total family income of the student is less than Rs 2.50 lakh from all sources. In case the income of concerned is less than Rs 1.20 lakh then he/she shall be eligible for financial assistance for full free ship
The highest package in previous years was 5-6 LPA and the lowest package was 2-3 LPA. Top companies were Infosys, Wipro etc. Almost all the students of the senior batch got internship.
