About IIIT Bangalore
The International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore (also known as IIIT Bangalore or IIIT-B) is a Deemed-to-be University in the de-novo category recognised under Section 3 of the UGC Act. The university was established in 1999 jointly by the Government of Karnataka and the IT Industry.
IIIT Bangalore has been ranked 74 under the ''Engineering'' category by the NIRF 2023 Rankings. The institute offers UG, PG, Integrated, Certificate and Diploma programmes across various streams such as Engineering, IT & Software and Science. Admission to most of the courses is offered based on the national-level entrance exams. IIITB has signed an MoU with the Government of Karnataka to develop and manage the Karnataka Data Lake.
